South African Deputy President Meets National Dialogue Delegation
The Deputy President of South Africa H.E. Cyril Ramaphosa met the National Dialogue delegation, which arrived in Cape Town on Tuesday 10th October 2017, for a working retreat. Ramaphosa spent six hours discussing the role of the National Dialogue in the healing process in South Sudan. Ramaphosa encouraged the National Dialogue to forge ahead for what it is doing for the good of South Sudan. He said they in South Africa encountered a lot of difficulties but persistent with talks with the Apartheid regime and succeeded.
The National Dialogue Co-Chair Hon. Angelo Beda thanked the Deputy President for giving his time to talk to them and asked South Africa to continue to assist South Sudan. Later Ramaphosa met a small group of the National Dialogue Delegation headed by Angelo Beda where the issue of the former First Vice President Dr. Riak Machar who currently leaves in South Africa was brought up. Ramaphosa agreed to try to convince Dr. Riak Machar to meet the National Dialogue Steering Committee.
